![]() I kept upgrading them pretty much every year, the last ones being noctua NF-A14's and they were still too loud for me even on the lowest possible speeds (under 20%). Why has a CPU cooler a fan and is not just open? because the fan itself gives the airflwo not an open design. Just becaue a case is called airflow edition it doesnt mean it is betetr or actually has a good airflow for loer temperature. with mroe fans you can run them at lower RPM to get the same or better cooling while noice nearly doesnt stack up. also the solution to cold temperature and lwo noice is to add mroe fans. ![]() Originally posted by tacoshy:well airflow and cooling is betetr with sidepanel on as you get then an airflow and not just ambient tempreture. ![]() I did actually buy a few fancy and expensive noctua fans but even they were audible on lowest speed (and didnt help airflow much either) thats why i completely gave up on all fans. And i used to have 5 fans before but they were super loud and i could barely feel any airflow coming from them so i dumped them. I have a corsair 750d (airflow edition) which is huge and quite open, with mesh on 4 sides. since noise is a problem for you, u can buy silent wings. If you love your rig, add at least 1x front intake fan near the drive(s).ītw. I do have a thermometer on my desk and its showing 30.4 degrees celcius right now and slowly rising. I never had any overheating problems since i did this, it actually dropped gpu/cpu temps, but probably doesnt help my hard drives. Now i have 2 fans (1 on Noctua nh-d15s and one as rear exhaust) running at lowest speed, but i also keep the side panel permanently removed to compensate for reduced airflow. I removed most of my fans (and cpu AIO) almost a year ago to reduce noise.
